In den Jahren 2018 – 2022 wurde Wilhelm & Maa\u00df mit der medientechnischen Ert\u00fcchtigung einiger Stadien im Rhein-Main-Gebiet beauftragt. Dazu z\u00e4hlten unter anderem die Ausstattung mit LED-W\u00e4nden, Bereitstellung von Broadcast-Infrastruktur, sowie unterschiedliche Medien- und Stadion-Regie-Technik z.B. f\u00fcr Stadion-TV.
\nDer Aufstieg eines Vereins in die erste Bundesliga ist h\u00e4ufig der Grund f\u00fcr steigende Anforderungen an die im Stadion installierte Medientechnik. Broadcast-Dienstleister ben\u00f6tigen aufgrund der Liga-Anforderungen ausfallsichere Energieversorgung, Glasfaser-Infrastruktur und Hybrid-Medien-Patchfelder zur Anbindung der Kameraz\u00fcge zwischen Stadion und \u00dc-Wagen. Diese Anforderungen sind nicht immer in tempor\u00e4rer Bauweise umzusetzen. Die Aufgabe von Wilhelm & Maa\u00df als Fachplaner ist es, bei der Projektierung alle Optionen der Installation in Betracht zu ziehen. Auch eine Rental-L\u00f6sung gegen\u00fcber einer Festinstallation wird beispielsweise bei der Wirtschaftlichkeitsberechnung mit einbezogen. Jedoch f\u00fchren h\u00e4ufig Nutzeranforderungen sowie auch bauliche Erfordernisse, wie z.B. der Brandschutz an einer ad\u00e4quaten Festinstallation nicht vorbei. Hier ist das Know-how aus den Bereichen der tempor\u00e4ren Medien- und Broadcasttechnik gepaart mit der Fachplaner-Kompetenz aus Festinstallationen der Schl\u00fcssel zu einer zweckdienlichen und zugleich wirtschaftlichen Projektumsetzung. Wilhelm & Maa\u00df kennt die Bedarfe der jeweiligen Disziplinen und schafft so eine Symbiose aus dem Spannungsfeld beider Welten. Dabei kamen u.a. folgende Komponenten zum Einsatz:<\/p>\n
Nach zwei Jahren der Covid-Pandemie, wollte sich der national agierende Immobilienentwickler FourParx mit einem Messestand auf dem ITS World Congress in Hamburg pr\u00e4sentieren. Es gab einige grundlegende Anforderungen an den ersten Messeauftritt des Kunden:
\nAufmerksamkeit gewinnen, Besucher auf den Stand ziehen und exponiert im Zentrum der Halle strahlen.
\nWas zun\u00e4chst einfach klingt, ist in Wahrheit anspruchsvoll: Schlie\u00dflich befindet man sich auf einer Messe, auf der alle Aussteller derart \u00e4hnliche Ziele verfolgen.
\nDie Aufgabe von Wilhelm & Maa\u00df war es, ein medientechnisches Gesamtkonzept f\u00fcr den Messestand zu entwickeln, das die Gewerke Licht- und Videotechnik miteinander in Einklang bringt und durch die Art der Gestaltung den Stand zu einem Gravitationsfeld in der Halle macht. Das Konzept sollte dabei unkompliziert auf nationale und internationale Messeauftritte sowie eine Dienstleister-unabh\u00e4ngige Umsetzung \u00fcbertragbar sein.
\nDiesem Pflichtenheft begegnete Wilhelm & Maa\u00df mit effizienten und zugleich wirkungsvollen Mitteln: Zentral \u00fcber dem Stand wurde eine dreieckige Medienfl\u00e4che konzipiert, diese kann wahlweise als LED-Wand oder auch als be- und hinterleuchteter Druck ausgef\u00fchrt werden. Hierdurch erlangte der Stand die gew\u00fcnschte Fernwirkung und gleichzeitig lie\u00df sich die Ausstellungsfl\u00e4che dadurch gliedern. So fanden drei Marken an den jeweiligen Schenkeln des Dreiecks ihre Pr\u00e4sentationsfl\u00e4che.
\nUm die Fernwirkung zu unterst\u00fctzen, wurde das Traversenraster, \u00fcber dem Stand mit sternf\u00f6rmig angeordneten Video-LED-Strips ausgestattet. Diese wurden so eng wie m\u00f6glich, jedoch mit so gro\u00dfem Abstand wie n\u00f6tig angebracht, um eine fl\u00e4chige Deckengestaltung herzustellen, die zugleich Platz f\u00fcr die notwendige Standbeleuchtung bietet. Durch eigens ausgew\u00e4hlte Contents entstand die Sogwirkung. Die bewegten Inhalte stellten einen klaren Blickfang in der Messeumgebung dar. War der Gast erst auf dem Stand, ergab die LED-Decke gleichzeitig eine immersive Atmosph\u00e4re durch die Begrenzung gegen\u00fcber der Hallendecke. Die Besucher konnten mit allen Sinnen in die Markenwelt der FourParx Gruppe eintauchen.
\nW\u00e4hrend die Ausstellung u.a. mit einem vernetzen Medien-Pr\u00e4sentations-System aus BrightSign-Playern f\u00fcr den Laien benutzerfreundlich zu bedienen war, wurde der Stand durch eine Kombination aus LED-Flutern als Fl\u00e4chenlicht gepaart mit Wechsellinsenscheinwerfern gegliedert. Zielsetzung dabei war den Stand in die Corporate Colors des Ausstellers zu tauchen und gleichzeitig die Exponate der Kernmarken der FourParx Gruppe in dieser Farbewelt als leuchtturmgleiche Objekte freizustellen. Gleichzeitig sollte im \u201eVIP-Bereich\u201c eine gem\u00fctliche Atmosph\u00e4re f\u00fcr bilaterale Gespr\u00e4che geschaffen werden.
\nDie Inszenierung der LED-Decke synchronisiert mit der atmosph\u00e4rischen Standbeleuchtung, h\u00fcllte die Besucher in die Farb- und Produktwelt der FourParx Gruppe. Das von Wilhelm & Maa\u00df konzipierte Licht- und Mediendesign des Messeauftritts wurde im Jahr 2022 erneut auf der ExpoReal M\u00fcnchen umgesetzt.
\nBeim Projekt kamen u.a. folgende Produkte zum Einsatz<\/p>\n
To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the German constitution and the subsequent European Union election, the association Pulse of Europe commissioned us with the design of a light show illuminating St. Paul\u2019s Church in Frankfurt.<\/p>\n
Pulse of Europe, who describe themselves as being known for their spontaneity, decided on an ambitiously tight schedule of only four weeks. Four weeks in which the light show had to be designed, planned, contracts awarded and everything taken care of so that the show could become reality. After a preliminary look at the church\u2019s architecture, we were able to make the initial decisions: surface lighting of the fa\u00e7ade, contrasting facet highlights from the windows and beam interplay on the roof. The twelve stars of the European Union flag were represented by twelve beams of light shining out from the roof of St. Paul\u2019s Church. The beams were projected into the night sky of Frankfurt using twelve Claypaky Mythos mounted on the ledge encircling the church\u2019s roof. This involved the major challenge of planning a substructure for the spotlights, which could not damage the roof or the walls of the historical building and had to stand up to the elements for four days.<\/p>\n
Two projection towers were set up on St. Paul\u2019s Square in front of the church, each equipped with six Claypaky Scenius Unicos for gobo projection onto the fa\u00e7ade of the church. To make this possible, sufficient compensation for the curved front of the central rotunda was key. In all there were 150 fixtures illuminating the \u201ccradle of German democracy,\u201d including:<\/p>\n
Ensuring that the automated show ran smoothly were components by MA Lighting: 1x GrandMA2 full-size, 1x GrandMA2 light, 1x MA VPU and various four-port nodes. The three-minute timecode show involved 120 cues, which were preprogrammed in the Wilhelm & Maa\u00df office using GrandMA 3D.<\/p>\n
For a German automobile manufacturer\u2019s retail launch in Portugal, Wilhelm & Maa\u00df was in charge of the video technology. Our services included planning the video technology at five venues.<\/p>\n
The central auditorium which housed the new vehicle exhibition was equipped with a 124-degree panorama projection illuminating three levels. At the first level, a soft-edge projection consisting of seven 12,000 ANSI-lumen tandem projections was used for presentations and specially produced oversized animated films. During the show, the screen kinetically glided away, revealing the second level: a semi-transparent gossamer playfully illuminated by three 20,000 ANSI-lumen triple soft-edge projections.\u00a0Our special use of the theme linked the projection and the goings-on behind the gossamer. This projection surface was then removed using a Kabuki system to reveal the steep curve of the building\u2019s interior, with a 64-m wide band of LED lights bordering the exhibition space.<\/p>\n
In addition to the three-level lighting spectacle, we created the illumination for four additional venues: the evening event with a combination of a wall of LED lights and fa\u00e7ade projection, an unveiling at a second location, and workshops and exhibition spaces with ultra-high definition displays and holography. In 2012 the Friends of the Braunshardt Manor House, a non-profit organization, hired us to develop a lighting concept for the Braunshardt Manor House in Weiterstadt, Germany. This rococo structure was erected in 1763 and is considered one of the loveliest manor houses of this period in Germany. We worked closely with the Office of Historical Buildings and the City of Weiterstadt, the owner of the manor house. Our work included designing the technical infrastructure, calling for bids and supervising the subsequent construction work. The main focus was on coordinating the various parts of the project, which ranged from underground work, electrical wiring and lighting technology. A special challenge was to do this without allowing costs to balloon, while at the same time meeting the Office of Historical Buildings\u2019 requirements. To ensure the lighting system was as flexible and as long-lived as possible, RGBW LED spotlights were used throughout.<\/p>\n
The north fa\u00e7ade of the manor house facing the park was illuminated using architectural floodlights, placed on two specially designed lampposts. The fountain and the standout trees in front of the building were integrated into the lighting of the property. An additional element is the W-DMX equipment for the grounds, to manage mobile battery-powered LED lights for events held in the park. The concept also included lighting of the walkways and two pavilions in the northern part of the park, which were included in a second stage of the project. To operate the lighting, we decided on a GrandMA onPC system with MA network nodes, largely due to the agenda function. In the new building at the International School on the Bergstra\u00dfe, the largest school in the Darmstadt-Dieburg administrative region, there is an auditorium used for assemblies. The events held here include school assemblies, theater and musical performances, presentations and talks. The school\u2019s auditorium is shaped like an amphitheater with surrounding galleries. The surfaces in the auditorium consist of three materials: concrete, glass and a plastic film in the area of the domed roof. In view of the auditorium\u2019s multipurpose nature, we worked closely with the architectural firm (Angela Fritsch Architekten) and the Darmstadt-Dieburg administrative leadership to plan the sound, light and video system for the space.<\/p>\n
This project posed challenges especially regarding the acoustics and the integration of the events technology system into the architecture. The devices in the visible area, such as loudspeakers and spotlights, were selected in close collaboration with the architectural firm. Our planning was subject to the three elements of sustainability: ecology, economy and social requirements. One example is the fact that the LED lights use 60% less electricity than conventional halogen lighting would have done. Using the best equipment from current brands also has the advantage of being long-lived and resistant to breakage, and is even a learning opportunity for teachers and students alike. The equipment was chosen with the idea that it can be used in a pedagogically useful way.<\/p>\n
One special aspect of this case is the individualized design of the lighting mount, made of stainless steel, which at first glance appears to be floating in the auditorium space. We also designed a director\u2019s table for all the technical devices, which allows a person to work in an ergonomically correct way while sitting.<\/p>\n
